Frozen wild salmon has a bold flavor and a very moist, firm texture. It is available year-round, with fresh being mostly abundant from spring to the beginning of fall. Wild salmon are most abundant in the Pacific Ocean, as well as many rivers that feed into the Pacific.
The main difference between wild and farmed salmon is that wild salmon generally has more flavor. The most flavorful of the wild salmons is King, followed by Sockeye, Coho, Silverbrite and then Pink.
